Site revamp

Posted on 18 July 2007

As you can see, I made another layout and added some things on the front page. I hope you like the new layout. I wanted a summer theme at the beach for the site and decided to use some pictures I took from evening walks. And I’m pretty pleased with the results.
From now on, you will be able to see the latest entries Eiji has written in his diary. You’ll also see the latest pictures that has been added.
You may also notice the extra place in the media section with the name “coming soon”. I’m currently making something that I hope you will like and may use in the near future. But I’m not going to tell what it is. It’s a surprise.

Flyball update

Posted on 14 July 2007

Today was the last training before the summer break and I have to say, I’m starting to enjoy it. I may not pick it up as fast as those border collies, but I will learn it even it takes forever.
During today’s training I made Jessica really happy. I start to understand that I have to take a ball and then run towards her. If I don’t, she runs away from me and I don’t want that.
The training sessions that I get are a lot shorter than from the collies, but that’s because I get to hot very quickly and can’t keep a long interest in it for some reason. But after doing it correctly a couple of times we always stop and Jessica keeps hugging me and telling I’m a good boy ^_^

Thursday = fun day

Posted on 12 July 2007

Thursday is one of my favorite days in the week. Do you know why? It’s because it’s market!
Most of the time I got to go to the market and this means getting up early in the morning. And the thing is that I don’t go for things that Jessica wants, but it’s a snacking treat for me.
Every time we go, Jessica and I wait for Katinka, Sammy and Shunka to show up at our house. When they arrive, we get ready to leave. But we don’t go directly to the market. We first go for a walk through the streets or the beach. If we go to the beach I’m more tired, but that’s because I get to play all the way with Sammy and Shunka ^_^
After the walk, we all arrive at the market and go directly to the section with meat. There Katinka buys several things for Sammy, Shunka and me like a sausage and some yummy meats. Every time I sit very nicely in front of the stand paying a lot of attention to see everything. But I also get really excited while I see Katinka is buying it so I start jumping the minute she leaves the stand and try to take the meat out of the bag. After that we go to the chicken stand were Katinka buys several pieces for BARF and while we all wait, Jessica gives the just bought meat to Sammy, Shunka and me.
But to tell you the truth, I think something isn’t completely fair. Sammy and Shunka are always getting their piece before me, but I still have finished first. You know, I think Sammy and Shunka are getting more than me T_T
After Katinka bought everything, the next stop is for some lamb and sometimes some cow. And after that we go home. I have to say, this trip takes about 4 hours every time and I’m always tired after that. So when we go home, I take a nap and dream about the meat I’m going to get later ^_^

Birthday cake

Posted on 08 July 2007

On thursday, there was a little postal package for Katinka in our mail box. So we waited until we saw Katinka to hand it over to her. And it was a surprise. It was a late birthday present for me! A special birthday cake for dogs! I wanted to eat it right away but wasn’t allowed bacause a half hour earlier I had my dinner.
Instead, Jessica placed it next to my cookie jar (yes, I have my own jar in the kitchen). The next couple of days, we were all a bit busy and I totally forgot about the cake. But today, after my walk, Jessica took the cake and placed it before me. I was really happy and wanted to start immediatly. but Jessica stopped me and cut of two pieces. She handed one piece at a time for me to eat. And I can tell you, it’s really good. After that, I didn’t get any more. Jessica said I would otherwise eat to much on one day. So instead, I’ll get a piece a day until it’s all in my tummy. Yay for me ^_^

New way of training me?

Posted on 06 July 2007

You know, I noticed something. Since I went on that frisbee workshop, Jessica is doing something different when training me. I don’t get a lot of treats anymore. That’s so weird. Normally I get a treat for every thing I do correctly, but that’s all changed now.
When we’re training, she doesn’t give treats, but plays with me as a reward! And you know what? I don’t really mind. Because of the playing I get between exercises and getting less treats, I get more enthousiastic. And results are showing.
In flyball, I’m still at the beginning stage and every week there isn’t a lot of progress. But when I didn’t get a yummy treat but a tennis ball as an award, I get a lot more excited and want to play more.
