I'm going to enter

Posted on 20 August 2007

Jessica just told me I’m going to be in the International Dog Show in Ostend at the end of September. And that we haveto do some preparations beforehand. But she won’t tell me what. I’m wondering what it could be.
I hope it will involve lots of play and yummy treats. But I’ll have to wait and see.

Fun dog day at Beervelde

Posted on 05 August 2007

This morning I went to the Hondsdolle dag (translated in Fun dog day) at Beervelde. It was very hot to day and to be able to have the most fun out of it, Jessica and I went in the morning.
We arrived a little bit before opening time, but there were already a lot of other dogs present. When the event opened, we went inside and I couldn’t believe my eyes. So many games to play!!! I didn’t know where to start first. So we decided to first check out all the games before playing. At the end of the scout we found water games, but these were going to be played at the end ^_^
So Jessica and I started again at the beginning and playing maze, chicken run, hide and seek, lucky guess,… and a couple of more of which I don’t know the names any more. But the temperature was raising rapidly and I was loosing my interest in all those games because I just kept looking for places to cool down. So we went to a little stand to let take my pictures by a professional photographer and then it was time for the water games.
I started with Aquality. This is agility on water ^_^ I had to follow Jessica over wooden planks that were floating on the water and jump through a hoop, go through a tunnel, jump over obstacles and walk a thin plank. Some of the wooden planks were replaced by surf boards and I was a bit hesitate to walk over those.
To relax my nerves from the surf boards, I went sitting in a canoe. That was very relaxing and fun, but not a lot of action for me.
After that Jessica wanted to try to make me swim. But I didn’t want to. I had to swim with 3 other dogs that were very wild and I didn’t want to go swimming with them no matter how much Jessica was calling me from across the water.
The final thing I did was very weird. I went through the sky over the water without doing anything myself ^_^ I had to put on a harnass and then two cooperators from the event lifted my and buckled me up. Then two other cooperators were pulling a rope that was attached to me to move me over the water. Before putting on the harnass I was a little worried because some dogs before me were very scared and tried to escape the harnass. That was ofcourse not possible, but by trying to do so, they were shaking pretty hard and that made them more scarier. But not me. I was very relaxed and calm. When I got on the other side of the water, Jessica praised me a lot and that made me very happy. I even got some treats as a reward.
After that we went home. But I can tell you I enjoyed it a lot and next year I’m going back ^_^

Calendar

The wait is over. The new section to the site is added ^_^
I’ve made a calendar for 2008 that everyone can use. There’s a page per month and 2 overviews of the year.
The instructions about how to print the calendar can also be found with the calendar. I hope you all like it.

Busy day

Posted on 02 August 2007

Today has been a busy day for me. It started around 5:15 this morning when Katinka came to get me. We were going to the Sahara in Lommel. The drive took about over 2 hours.
We have walked there for about 6 hours. It was raining a couple of times, but that didn’t bother me. I had lot’s of fun running around, chasing Shunka, rabbits and deers ^_^ Yes, I’m becoming a deer hunter. They seem like a fun animal to play with and since Shunka runs after them, it most mean she thinks so too ^_^
After that walk, we went back in the car to go to Antwerp. And then I suddenly saw Jessica there. She couldn’t come in the morning with us, so she decided to catch up in the afternoon in Antwerp. While she went in a Chinese supermarket, Katinka decided to brush Shunka, Sammy and me a bit, because we were all covered with dust and mud from the Sahara.
After that we went to some other shops and I kept jumping around because I was so happy that Jessica had joined us. But about 5pm I was getting tired, but the day wasn’t over yet. By the time we got back to the car, we had to go to Aalter for Shunka’s hydrotherapy. She taking swim training to build up her muscles. One session takes about an hour. It seems like fun and maybe I will start doing it too in the future.
And finally after that we could go home. I’m glad to be home. I’m dead tired. Now I’m going to eat my dinner and off to bed.
