Walking the distance

Posted on 29 March 2008

Katinka has found a new hobby and I’m sufforing the consequences. She’s starting with going on walks from at least 20km with clubs in the weekends. This is the second time that I was hopping along.
The walks itself are nice. You pass along lot’s of fields and quiet areas with mostly woods, farms and animals which means that I don’t need to be put on a leash ^_^
But I can tell you that I’m pretty tired afterwards. When I come home I don’t even have the spirit to eat a bone or nothing. A cookie is the only thing that I’ll eat.

Poor me

Help me, I’m hurt. The pain, the pain… It just hurts so much….. not!!!
I’m just kidding. It’s true I’m hurt, but I don’t have any pain. I have a little infection of my third eye lid which makes my eye turn red and filth keeps coming out, but it doesn’t really bother me.
I was fine in the morning, but when Jessica came back from work in the afternoon she noticed the little bit of filth and wiped it away. But not long after that there was again filth and she took a closer look to see that my left eye was a lot more red than the other eye. And because I have a swimming lesson today, she immediately went to the vet with me. He took a look and said it was only a small infection and now I have to have eye drops for a couple of days.
But I’m a good boy and now every time Jessica wants to give my eye drops. I turn my head the other way to tease her ^_^ And when I’ve got the drops, I get a little cookie.

To bad

I guess I’m not very lucky. No snow for me today. It already melted T-T
But on the otherhand I kept myself busy with walking. I made a walk of about 20km in Oostkamp with Shunka and Katinka, while Jessica stayed at home with Sammy.
And what a walk it was. I was very popular with everyone. Everybody went saying “what a cute dog”, “I just love his expressions” to “he’s so funny”. I know… It’s fun to be me. And the best thing is that Katinka bought my a yummy hotdog. People were laughing with me because I was acting funny with it according to them.
Hey I can’t help it that I like to test my food before eating it.
But I’ve got to tell you, I’m now very tired. The walk was only 20km but I feel like I’ve walked a lot more. And kept running around after Shunka and I think I actually walked like 40 km.

Easter snow

Posted on 23 March 2008

Happy easter everybody! I hope you all had fun searching the chocolate eggs ^_^
Today was a busy day for me. The first thing I did today was going on a bike ride with Shunka and Katinka for about an hour. After becoming a little bit dirty, we went back home to pick up Sammy and Jessica for a trip to Ghent. This weekend there was the ‘Beestjes en Baasjes’ fair and we go every year cookie hunting ^_^
During the ride to Ghent, I had a bit of time to relax, but when we were on the parking lot I was getting excited. I saw all these dogs walking around and I knew this was going to be another fun day with lot’s of interesting smells.
We hadn’t even entered the building yet, and I was feeling happy. I smelled hamburgers and hot dogs and wanted one. But both Jessica and Katinka said I had to wait longer for a treat. So after buying the tickets, we went inside.
Because we went by the time the event opened, there wasn’t that much of a crowd. There were a lot of people there, but not as much by the time we left.
We started with walking around at the children farms with bunnies, chickens and roosters, ducks and geese, sheep, goats, donkeys, cows,… and lama’s. Those are funny creatures. This is one of the few places I’ve ever seen them and I always try to get a better look of them. There were also hunting birds there, but I wasn’t allowed to get close.
After all those animals, it was time to hit all the little stands for different kinds of animals. Shunka, Jessica and I stopped at all the stands with yummy treats to search some new ones. We found some that we can’t find here a lot and this resulted in lot’s of little cookie and bone bags for Shunka and me. Jessica also bought 2 new frisbees for me so that we can start again with frisbee this summer ^_^
After that we went outside to let Sammy rest a bit. He’s not doing so well, since he had a sickness a couple of weeks ago which resulted in balance impairment. During his rest, Shunka and I had fun playing some of the dog games that were available outside like chicken run, maze and one other game of which I can’t remember the name. I can tell you that after those games, everybody except for Sammy was very dirty. We were covered with mud all over ^_^
After those games and a hot dog break (yeah, finally a hot dog ^_^), we went back inside for some last shopping things. Jessica bought a new blanket for me to lay and Katinka also still needes some things. After that, we went back home and I can tell you that I was tired. We were there for 4 hours and I can tell you that I saw lot’s of other dogs that looked interested, but sadly I wasn’t allowed to play with any of them T-T
And you are all now probably wondering, what does all this have to do with the title of this entry ^_^
Well, I’ll tell you that now. During our evening walk it was snowing. And it has been a long time apparently since it has snowed on easter. During the walk the snow was building up on my back and face, which made it hard to see. But on the other hand, I’m hoping to wake up tomorrow to a white playground ^_^

Let's turn it around

As you can see, the site got a fresh new look. I thought the previous layout was good, but the dark colours were a bit depressing. So this time I take the site to a whole different direction: soft purple all around.
Eiji is currently very busy with his swimming lessons and besides that he spends a lot about 99% of his time together with Shunka. And those two never seem to get bored with each other.
Besides the new layout, you can also find new pictures in the gallery and there are some new entries in the diary of the last month.
