Archive for year 2010
Today, I went on a walk with Katinka, Shunka and Jessica to Drongengoedbos. That’s place is the biggest forest of East-Flanders. It’s been snowing again and this means fun snow times at the woods.
Snow in woods mean looking for animal tracks and jumping over branches and just running around and trying to push over Katinka and Jessica ^_^
After 3 hours walking around, Shunka was suddenly very alert and looking around. I starting sniffing around and suddenly found tracks. And in the distance we suddenly saw a group of deers. They must have picked up our sent and starting running of. To our surprise they didn’t run away, but crossed the paths of Jessica and Katinka so that they would go to the other side of the woods. This means turning around and starting chasing them. I was even quicker than Shunka to follow them, but it wasn’t a success. They just were to fast for us and we lost their track.
During the rest of the walk, I kept searching for them, but I didn’t spot them again. And why didn’t Katinka or Jessica brought their camera to photograph my brilliant tracking action!?
It’s still snowing and I want to take every chance I get to walk in it. I even found a way to go for a walk when Jessica isn’t home.
I start walking around the door like I have to go very badly. Jessica’s parents pick my reaction up and go outside with me, only to find out that I’ve tricked them in it ^_^
And the best thing is… I’ve been doing for days now and they didn’t notice it until today, but they still go out with me because they can’t be sure if it’s me teasing them or that I really have to go.
Today is Friday and since it’s snowing so this means picture time. When Jessica came back from work in the afternoon, we went for a walk at Raversijde.
I love running around in the snow and since I can run around without a leash it means so much more. I can run, roll, jump around in the snow all I want. When I see other dogs it’s like snow is falling again because we’re playing so much that the snow from the ground goes back in the air.
The only annoying thing is that snow keeps freezing in my hair and at my paws so after a while I have to lay down and pull it out of my coat. But that’s a small prize to pay.
Jessica and I have been walking around and played there for almost 3 hours, we just had to much fun there. The funny thing is that after we got home, the report on the news said that it was the coldest day and at the coast it was -13 degrees celcius and we never noticed it ^_^
It’s snowing and I love it. My favorite part of winter is starting.
This means acting crazy.
This means walks in snow without getting hot.
This means rolling around in snow.
This means slipping and falling down on a soft cushing.
This means turning from grey to white.
This means my paws will hurt while walking some streets (due to salt).
This means some personal time with Jessica after every walk for drying me down and playing with the towel.
This means getting my paws cleaned after every walk in luke warm water.
Today, I didn’t go to dog school, but stayed at home with Jessica just being lazy. Jessica’s sister had asked us to go check up on her cats, so that they wouldn’t be lonely.
So we went to visit them around noon just after my morning walk. We only saw 2 of the 6 cats, but that was no problem, because some of them like to sleep around. When Jessica and I went for another walk in the afternoon, I just wanted to go to Katinka’s home so badly. And when we arrived there I finally saw her male cat Ravi. I really like him. He always comes spinning against me for attention. And today was no difference. I was so enjoying his company that I almost didn’t notice that Jessica was ready to go home at a certain point and she had to drag me away from Ravi.
Today it was raining outside. I don’t mind that since there aren’t many other dogs outside and I have all the place to myself (and Shunka).
After the walk, Jessica dried Shunka and I with a towel. I was my usual self: continuous turning around, wagging my tale, going from one side of the room to the other, and in the meantime Jessica was trying to keep me still ^_^ After that we got our meal and after that it was time to go to bed. But as always, I search for a cool place to relax first and suddenly I found it. Jessica had put her wet coat on a chair to dry. So the floor under her coat was a bit wet. I decided to lay there. And suddenly I noticed something. Little water drops were falling from her coat on my paws. Every time a drop fell on me, I licked it of. I found that so much fun, that I’m definitely will do that again next time.
It’s almost Halloween and this means walking! Today I went on my annual night Halloween walk in Ostend.
This year it was a different start and this meant a whole new walk. The plan was to do the 12km walk, but the weather decided it wouldn’t be that smart to do that walk, so we did the 6km walk. It had been raining all day already and it just didn’t stop. So the first half hour it was still raining a lot and I was soaked to the bone. I was so happy when it finally stopped.
A part of the walk was by the beach and when we got there, there was so much wind that I was almost dry. But when we almost completed the whole path, it started raining again, so Jessica and I decided to run to the car.
It was lot’s of fun, but I hope next year is a lot dryer.
When it’s started to get hot and I’ve gone on my evening walk, I always lay down in the hall way to cool down and later in the evening I go to my basket to sleep. I do this in the summer, spring and fall. But lately it’s getting colder in the evening and Jessica’s mother is starting to close the door to the hall way.
Tonight, like always, I went to lay down in the hall and Jessica’s mother didn’t notice that. So when I wanted to go to my sleeping basket I couldn’t go there. After thinking about it, I decided to start scratching the door. Jessica’s mom was startled and didn’t notice where the sound was coming from and had to laugh when she realised it was me.
So from now on, I’m going to have to cool down in the living area.
Tonight during my daily evening walk, I saw a hedgehog walking around. I’ve seen him again a week ago and then he wasn’t as active as today.
I find hedgehogs fascinating creatures. Sadly Jessica won’t allow me to get close to them. He’s very active and he doesn’t even roll in a ball when we’re getting closer. I think he’s just as curious as I am. When we pass each other, we look at each other and after that we both turn around to take another look.
I want to play with him !!!! ^_^
This whole week I’ve been walking with Katinka and Shunka in the morning and Thursday even the whole day (from about 7 am to 9:30pm with an one hour break). And this results in a very tired me.
Today I was even so tired that I wasn’t feeling so well and was vomiting my food. But still I went on a walk with Katinka in the morning, and since Jessica has off every Friday afternoon, I had a afternoon walk with her.
Every time we stopped, I tried to safe my strength. And when we finally arrived home I started sleeping immediatly. In the evening, Shunka, Jessica and I went for a short walk, because Shunka and I just didn’t have the courage anymore, and now I’m off to bed.
