Yesterday evening I had salmon for dinner, but I think it’s one of the last times that I’ve eaten salmon like that. When I get salmon it’s always fresh strips of salmon of mixed. This time it were strips of salmon, but the after effect wasn’t that great.
After 10 minutes when I went outside I started licking everything in sight. Jessica got very worried and went back to Katinka’s house. There I was licking the ground non-stop. Jessica tried to make me stop, but I just started licking her instead.
Katinka had to search my symptoms on the internet. According to a site, it said that it would mean that I was nauseous and that I shouldn’t be licking the ground or I would be able to get bloat. To stop me from doing it, would be to go out for short walks with my head high and not licking the ground. Because Katinka wasn’t so sure about that, she rang the vet and he also told her to check my belly and prevent me from licking.
So Jessica started walking around Katinka’s street and after a couple of rounds we would go back inside to see how I was acting. After trying it a couple of times, I was calming down and I wasn’t licking that much any more. So Jessica decided to go back home with me.
Once at home, Jessica went upstairs to get her pillow and decided to stay with me the whole night. The end result was that we were having walks in the middle of the night when I was getting worse again. No surprise to let you know that at night there are hardly any cars around.
By the morning I didn’t had that many symptoms any more, so Jessica decided to get some sleep (she actually only slept from 7 to 8 am). In the afternoon we went to vet to check it for sure and now I’m only allowed to eat some easy to swallow food for the next couple of days.

Since I’ve started sleeping over at Katinka’s house to control my hay fever, I can’t walk home with Jessica anymore. Everytime she leaves me, I stand on my back legs and watch her go through the window and look really sad so that I hope she will take me with her. But it doesn’t work, so I’ll have to find another way.
But on the other han, now I’m constantly with Shunka and I like that. I love her a lot. Like today we went on a walk in Ypres with a group of friends. It was hot, but luckily there was water there, so that we all could cool down.

Guess what. There are people saying that I’m spoiled. I don’t believe that for one bit.
Sure, I get a couple of new toys every x weeks, but that doesn’t mean I’m spoiled. I just love playing and tearing my toys apart. Plushies are my favorite. I love taking there insides out and throwing it all around.
Rubber toys are also fun, but sometimes harder to tear. Some of those toys have very soft rubber and it feels really strange in my mouth. Those are the only ones that I leave whole.
Everytime Jessica, or one of her parents go to the kitchen, I follow them. Then I sit very obedient in the corner where the cookie box stands and look very cute. I can’t help it that I get a cookie 50% of the time as a result.
I tell you, I’m not spoiled ^_^

Today I went to a beauty parlor for the first time in my life. I had no idea what would happen, but I can tell you I’m happy it’s over.
It all started when Jessica came back from her work. She ran upstairs to change her clothes and eat something. And not much later we were in the car and off to somewhere I didn’t know. I was quite excited, because I wanted to know what we would do.
We drove for about an hour to Knokke-Heist (a beach city in Belgium). And when we arrived at the address, all we saw was a famous Belgian animals’ store. So by good luck we went in, and by surprise, it was a branch with a dog beauty parlor. We went inside the parlor and I got to meet the person who was working there. She seemed very nice in the beginning, but in fact she’s very cruel. I can’t win against her.
She started with putting on a different collar and placing me on a table. She brushed me for a bit, but soon she lifted me and off I went in a tub. I didn’t really like to surface of the tub, so I first tried to escape a couple of times, but everytime she caught me and put me back in place. Then she started running the water and made me wet. I didn’t want that and started struggling again. But no such luck. She still kept me in place T_T
After that she washed my with 2 kinds of shampoo before rinsing my hair. But when that was done, she did something I alsways like: drying me of with a big soft towel. When Jessica does that we play during that time ^_^
After that I was placed on the table again. She started with putting some mouse in my hair to get more volume. And then she came closer with a big blower. Before she aimed it at me, she put the blower on so that I could get used to the noise. When she started aiming the blower at my she started putting more volume in my hair. At some moments I didn’t like it a lot, and I made it noticable. I almost fell of the table because I kept moving to the other side so that the wind of the blower wouldn’t touch me. But again I failed T_T
After that she started on my paws. She cut the hair on my feet in perfect cat paws and also brushed the hair on my legs up to get more volume. This is necessarry, because I have thin legs and apparently a spitz has to have broader legs.
When she was almost finished she brushed a little bit more volume in my hair and then she was done. It took her an hour and a half to wash and brush me and Jessica said I looked a lot thicker than before and that she had the urge to run her hands through my hair to put it all back how it is usually.
When Jessica paid and we went back to the car, I just had to ask her one thing: “Was all this torture really needed?” ^_^

You might have read in some previous entries of my diaries that I sometimes have encounters with wild animals, bunnies in particular. Well, I haven’t told a lot about them lately and I’ve got some stories to share.
Let’s see, the first story was in the dunes. Shunka is, as always searching for bunnies. Suddenly she found one and it cames towards me. And I, the big helper I am, tried to slow down the bunny. But instead of stopping the bunny just jumped over me and searched refuge in the bushes behind me.
This other time, we were all walking down in a little park and I suddenly saw a bunny. I started running after it and when it saw me it ran in the bushes. I decided not to let go and followed him. But they were pretty high bushes with lot’s of thorns. So to avoid searching with seeing much, I started jumping high to try to look from above the bushes to search for the bunnies.
While I was doing that, Katinka and Jessica were laughing because I didn’t jump high enough and they could see my tail in moments or my head.
And then this other time. More than one bunny was running away from Shunka and came towards me. Again I acted as the distractor to slow them down. Every direction the jumped, I mimicked.
But can you believe after all this that Katinka dares to say the following: “Eiji has to stop dancing with the bunnies and start to catch them.”

You know that I wrote earlier about me having to switch food because my hair is turning red? Well, it really happened today!!!
But it’s not from the food, but from playing around ^_^ There’s this place in Ostend, called “de Schorre” and there are lot’s of sport fields there. There are running tracks, football fields, bicycle field,… and a baseball field. Now, I was playing at the baseball field and the mount suddenly caught my eye. So I ran to it and started sniffing it. It smelled nice so I decided to camouflage myself with that smell. But I hadn’t noticed the colour of the mount. It had apparently a red colour, so in a few moment I was bright red!!!
But even though it smelled good, I didn’t like to feel of the dirt, so I immediatly jumped in some water to take it of me. So sadly there aren’t any pictures of little me in red T_T but I think you can imagine it.

You won’t believe it. My hair is getting a red shine! If this continuous I will become the first red coated Wolfspitz and follow my smaller breed related friends ^_^
But Jessica won’t let it come this far. Apparently there’s to much cupper in my food. Since I changed to adult dry food, I’ve been eating Bento Regular. And now it seems that the cupper in this brand is to much to handle for my little body and I will have to change dry food. I can’t wait to see which she will try. There are some brands out there that Katinka has giving me sometimes that I also like a lot and I can’t wait to get these more daily ^_^
When it comes to food I’m always happy. But it will be a sad day when I don’t get any more Bento and I will T-T
And now the long process will start to reduce that red glance in my coat. Hopefully it will dissappear soon, because I want my black-grey-white coat without red!!!! Or I won’t be a grey keeshond ^_~

It’s been a while since I last saw Shunka. And I hate that. She’s my favorite play mate ^^
But Jessica keeps telling me that Shunka’s in heat. But I don’t understand that. All I know is that I don’t see her and that when Sammy comes over that he keeps howling and refuses to eat. The funny thing is that he has an interesting smell.
When we are going for a walk together, I can get closer to Sammy than before. Otherwise he was always growling and wanted me to leave him alone.
And his smell is very weird. I keep sniffing all over him during the walk. When he is sniffing something, I take the opportunity to sniff between his legs. And still no reaction from him. He allows everything. Very, very weird…
[Jessica takes over] I think I have to give a little explination about Eiji is telling here. Shunka and Sammy are living together. And Since Shunka is in heat, my sister brings Sammy over to not let him get to excited. But Sammy ofcourse knows a lot better than Eiji that Shunka is in heat and his hormones and pheromones are overreacting. And that is what Eiji is noticing. Sammy doesn’t care what Eiji does to him. The only thing that Sammy is thinking is that he wants to get close to Shunka as soon as possible. I don’t think I have to tell you to do what ^_~[End of take over]
What is she talking about? I want to know! I don’t get it. Where is Shunka??? I want to play together!!!!

It’s that time of year again. Jessica had a lot of problems to decide what to get me for Xmas and most important, my Xmas meal! Finally, she decided to keep it simple this year and I’m going to have some raw meat with Cesar’s Feast Meal for Christmas.
To avoid the rush in the shop, Sammy, Shunka, Jessica and myself went to Tom & Co. to shop. Besides, next to my Xmas meal their was also a need for some treats for training.
She started with putting on my very own… back pack! I don’t like to wear that thing. I want to take it of. It a rare thing to see a dog with his own backpack, so everybody is always watching. But on the other hand, most of the people already look at me, so I’ve gotten a bit used to it. I sometimes even get treats from them ^^
So we then went to pick up Sammy and Shunka which isn’t an easy task at all. Because during the first 5 minutes of the walk, I play with Shunka and go from one side to the other and are making lots of noises ^^ This also makes lots of people stop and look and laugh.
When we’re finally in the shop, we see a briard. So we avoid that ile because the owner of the dog is fitting collars and I don’t want to disturb. So the first stop is the canned food.
Then it’s back to the first ile. There you find all the collars, leashes, snack bones, cookies and toys.
Jessica decided to get my an extra toy for Xmas since I almost torn apart every toy gets I get after like 5 minutes. So she has to find new things to keep me busy. Lucky for me there are some new toys, so she choose one and placed in the basket.
Now for the treats. I needed some snack bones. So she placed some in the basket, which is standing on the ground. While she’s going back to the cookies to choose some training treats and then… Can you guess??? I go in the basket and takes one of the bones!!!
But she discovers it and I have to let go of the bone.
When we get everything needed, we go to the cashier. The moment we arrive at the cashier, I put my paws on top of the table. I always get a cookie or 2 from the person who’s at the cashier ^^
While the cashier was adding everything up, Jessica placed some of the stuff in my pack back. The things that were to big went in her’s. And so we began our trip to home.

I’m on a rage. I want to do everything I want. I don’t listen anymore. I won’t do anything Jessica is telling me, so nah….
Sadly enough she figured me out and now I’m going to get a total hard military regime! How dares she!!!! I’m Eiji, a keeshond and I love it and nobody will constrain me!!!
