Playtime

Today I went to the Beestjes en Baasjes event at the expo in Ghent. I go there every year with Shunka, Katinka en Shunka to look at the animals and shop around. This year we were accompanied by Hannah and her owner Conny and Diesel and his owner Benny.
We arrived just at opening time so the first hour was very calm and easy to look around. We looked at lamas, miniature horses, owls, donkeys, reptiles,… but weren’t allowed to come to close. I was most interested in the bunnies and the lamas (don’t ask me why, I just think lamas are weird creatures).
There was also a part for cats and dogs. We looked at the cats first, but that didn’t interested me at all. The dogs were a whole other story. We went by Bichons, German Shepherds, Berner Sennen, Chihuahuas,… and then Samoyeds. And there I saw her: Lotus. She’s a young female Samoyed and it clicked between us from the start. I didn’t want to leave her. I just wanted to keep playing with her. During the day I kept passing her and every time we started playing around. And it was the real deal: jumping, turning around,… and Lotus’ owner and Jessica were laughing with us, because we became wilder and wilder as the day progressed.
During the day I got a lot of attention of the other visitors. People were constantly taking pictures of me and asking questions about me. There was an keeshond boot on the event, but when we passed it, we never saw a lot of people there. Shunka and I also got an offer to sign with a company that’s always searching for new dogs to star in commercials and movies, but Jessica didn’t let me sign, because she’s afraid that I might had to go to places that were bad for my hay fever and allergies, but Shunka did sign. So maybe she will become a very famous dog someday ^_^

Today is Friday and since it’s snowing so this means picture time. When Jessica came back from work in the afternoon, we went for a walk at Raversijde.
I love running around in the snow and since I can run around without a leash it means so much more. I can run, roll, jump around in the snow all I want. When I see other dogs it’s like snow is falling again because we’re playing so much that the snow from the ground goes back in the air.
The only annoying thing is that snow keeps freezing in my hair and at my paws so after a while I have to lay down and pull it out of my coat. But that’s a small prize to pay.
Jessica and I have been walking around and played there for almost 3 hours, we just had to much fun there. The funny thing is that after we got home, the report on the news said that it was the coldest day and at the coast it was -13 degrees celcius and we never noticed it ^_^

Tonight during my daily evening walk, I saw a hedgehog walking around. I’ve seen him again a week ago and then he wasn’t as active as today.
I find hedgehogs fascinating creatures. Sadly Jessica won’t allow me to get close to them. He’s very active and he doesn’t even roll in a ball when we’re getting closer. I think he’s just as curious as I am. When we pass each other, we look at each other and after that we both turn around to take another look.
I want to play with him !!!! ^_^

Sometimes Katinka and Jessica accuse me of being jealous of Shunka. And I strongly deny that.
I only can’t stand her getting all the attention and I also want to be hugged and petted. And maybe even a bit more than her. To show how I’m feeling I’m trying to get between Shunka and the person and start barking to Shunka to move aside.

Today was a busy day. First of all, Jessica and I went for a short walk around 9:30. I didn’t get that but it had it’s reasons. When we got back home, she started brushing me. The only good thing about that is that it didn’t take long and the reward I got afterwards.
A little bit after 11 o’clock, Jessica started making her bag. She put water, treats and toys in a bag and me on the leash. We walked towards Katinka’s home, but met her halfway together with Shunka. Then we walked all together in the direction of Zoomart (a pet store). This took us about an hour. When we arrived at the store there was apparently a photographer present and so Shunka and I had to pose. I was ofcourse the best model ^_^
After that, we browsed the store and Katinka and Jessica bought some things. After paying we went direction dog school. The road from the pet store to the school is currently unavailable for cars which meant that Shunka and I could walk freely. I was getting very hot and search for some water. I first found a little water puddle and felt the freshness of the water when I was standing in it. But that wasn’t enough so I decided to go to the other side where there is a small water canal. Oh my god, did that refreshed me!
When we were almost at the dog school, Shunka, Katinka, Jessica and I walking around a bit and played catch in and next to some little pond. Well actually, Shunka was more doing the catching then I but that didn’t bother me.
After a while we went to the dog school and started with the agility. Since Katinka always trained me and not Jessica (she’s always been the photographer) it was fun to started training with Jessica. But since she doesn’t know all the handling yet, I made mistakes. I didn’t think that was so wrong because I got more treats this way ^_^
After agility we went to obedience class. Jessica wasn’t so sure about everything due to the past happenings on obedience classes with me in another dog school, but the trainer was very calm and understood the situation.
After the obedience, a friend of Katinka come on the field with a puppy. I noticed that the puppy couldn’t see so good, so I was a lot calmer with it than I would otherwise. Jessica and Katinka were very proud of my behaviour and gave me lot’s of treats for that. And after this little playing session, we went back home. We were on the roud for about 7 hours and I feel it. I’m very sleepy and now I’m going to bed.

Today was the day that I would compete in my first cani-cross game. The location was Poeke, not to far to where I go swimming every fourth night.
When Shunka, Katinka, Jessica and me arrived we noticed that it was very hot. But that wouldn’t stop us. We went to the place to register and had a quick medical exam. When we were going to the table to pay our entrance, I was attacked from behind by a border collie who was hiding under a table. He tried to bite me, but luckily only a bit of hair was wet.
After paying, we went to a little stand to pick up Shunka’s new cani-cross equipment and there I was nearly attacked by a dalmation. That started to scare us a bit and angered Katinka and Jessica because people clearly can’t control their dog.
To get rid of all our tension, we decided to walk the one of the roads of the game and to decide where Jessica would stand to take pictures.
After the walk it was almost time to start, and Jessica and me (my game was later) decided to position us at the side in the beginning so that we could go back very quickly to the finish.
The first dogs started running and after a while, Shunka finally passed us with Katinka. But after that we didn’t move, because they would pass that point once more before going to the finish. After they passed the second time, Jessica put away her camera and we started walking back. Every time a dog would pass, we went more to the side and Jessica didn’t let me watch the dogs by turning my back. But this wasn’t such a good idea. Suddenly we saw a dog passing another dog and he tried to bite the other dog. So Jessica decided to go a little more to the side, but it was all for nothing. The dog lashed out and but me a couple of times in the back. Both Jessica and I were very shocked and we can’t remember which participant it was, because otherwise, we would have told the organisation. After we finally reached the start, we started searching for some disinfectant alcohol. We found some soon and after letting 3 vets take a look, everything was alright. But Jessica decided that I wouldn’t participate anymore. It will be for a next time so that I don’t have to many bad experiences on one day.
The end result: I have now a couple of puncture wounds at a pretty delicate place. I’m tired from all those annoying bugs and I’m off to bed.

You think you’ve seen it all, but it isn’t so. Today is with Katinka and Shunka to the agility lesson as Shunka’s supporter and to help her eat all the treats ^_^.
At another field, there was a class obedience. And suddenly they were in a dilemma. One of the persons there needed to learn how to walk your dog on the right side. And believe it or not, not one of the dogs in that lesson was able to walk right, they only know left. So, when they started asking around it seems that I was the only one who could do it without a problem. So the trainer asked if that person could practice with me.
The funny thing is, I don’t normally follow obedience.

Today was a busy day and it was over before I knew it.
I started the day with a walk with Jessica. Immediately after that, she started brushing me. When she was finished with me it was almost noon and Katinka came with Shunka.
All for of us went to Tom & Co because there was a photographer present. After shopping and waiting it was finally our turn to play model, but we soon realized that the pictures wouldn’t be anything special. After Shunka and I posed, Katinka and Jessica went to computer to view the pictures. It has never been such a bad batch op pictures of me. Most people say that I’m an easy dog to capture (especially head shots) but even those sucked. So when we left the store, we were all pretty upset and then it started raining.
After we got home, Katinka took me away from Jessica and we went to her house to get her bike. Then Shunka and I started running next to Katinka (who’s on the bike) to dog school.
There wasn’t a lot of dogs and people present at the school, so even I started doing agility. And everyone thought I was pretty good and should start doing it again. The only sad thing is that me rewards can’t be treats T-T.

Today has been a day lots of fun and trying to get out of things.
In the afternoon, Shunka and Katinka came after me for a quick walk to a pet shop. But I really didn’t want to, so I hurried to Jessica who was sitting in the couch and jumped on her and laid down my head so that no collar could get around my neck. But it didn’t work. Jessica pushed me down and Katinka put my collar on. While Katinka was still talking to her mother, I tried to look as sad as possible so that maybe they would feel sorry for me and let me stay home with Jessica. But this also didn’t work.
When we got back from the shop, Katinka, Shunka, Jessica and took Jessica’s car and drove off. We picked up a friend and then went direction Ghent.
When we arrived there, we started looking around for another friend, Zoomi. I can get along with him as long as we don’t look each other to much in the eyes. I don’t like doing that with other males ^_^
And then we were off to Blaarmeersen. It’s a big recreation park with lot’s of sport activities for humans, but in the evening, there aren’t a lot of people and then you can walk around easy as a dog. And ofcourse, swim a lot. And that’s what I did: swimming! By the end I was soaking wet and started running around like crazy to get dry.

Today I went to the Natte Neuzen day at Beervelde. This was as a replacement for the ‘Hondsdolle dag’.
I went together with Katinka, Shunka en Jessica. We went in the morning so that it was still cool and not a lot of people.
We’ve played all the games a couple of times and had lots of fun. In the chicken run I was faster if I was running with Shunka than running alone.
I love doing agility, but when the runnel was due, I tried to play tricks with Jessica ^_^

After a fun morning full of games, we went direction Assebroek. There we met up with a friend from Katinka and an older beagle. There we did a walk of 7km. But because we thought that walk was to short, we decided to take another direction. That walk was supposed to be a circular route, but we didn’t find the turns and because we didn’t find the right direction, we decided to go back.
