This afternoon I went to the vet to check up on my paw.
The vet has taken out the 4 staples and to do that Jessica and Katinka had to hold me. When he took them out, I was in a lot of pain and made the strangest noises. Jessica and Katinka tried to relax me, but that wasn’t any help. That really hurt.
After that the vet took a look at my paw and everything looks very good. It seems to have closed nicely. But now I still have 8 holes in my pad from the staples and these have to heal now. Because of the removing of the staples, my pad was bleeding again, so the vet put some powder on it to stop the bleeding and put a new bandage on.
Since Katinka had to work this afternoon, Shunka was at my house and when Jessica took us out for a small walk, it had just finished raining. And now I can start acting like me again 24 7. When Shunka went through a puddle of water, I also had to go through it. At home I was being my wild self again, but I regret doing that.
Even though I don’t have any staples in my pad again, it still hurts a bit, so I still have to take it slow for a couple of days. Jessica also told me that this weekend we were still going to make short walks so that those holes can close very fast so that we can go on long walks again very soon ^_^

This evening I went for a walk with my personal harem. And I really mean harem ^_^
I was the only male against four female dogs. I went to Raversijde with Shunka, Zieta, Nanouk and Killa (and of course all the owners). Having so many women around me is a paradise for me, but it’s also very tiresome. Shunka is always jealous and won’t allow me to play with everyone, while the others are always teasing me to play.
Killa is a puppy, so I allow a lot, but she’s a hand full and even more energetic then I am. So I try to stay a bit out of her way, but for some reason she has always been attracted to me and I don’t know why. … Well, I do know why. I mean, I’m just so lovable, but I didn’t know that even puppies are blinded by my charms ^_^

Today I’m already six years old. Time sure flies by. Jessica couldn’t get off from work, but Katinka made up for it. I could play in the mud and get really dirty ^_^ and afterwards I was jumping around in the water.
Sadly I had to go to the vet on my birthday, but it wasn’t really for me, so yay. After going to the vet, we went to a pet shop and I got some real yummy treats.
Btw, I got a whole shopping bag with cookies and other yummy stuff from Jessica as a birthday present and a squeeky toy.

Today I made my debut at canicross! And I have to say, I was amazing! But let’s start with the beginning.
In the morning I went for a walk with Shunka and Jessica for about an hour. While we were going back to Katinka’s home, Jessica stopped by a bakery and bought something that smelled really really good. When we arrived at Katinka’s, we got in the car and drove to Loppem.
When we arrived at the place of the competition, we had a parking spot very quickly and it was one of the last good spots. This means that the car would stay cool. We went to register ourselves and until then no dog tried to attack me!
After registration we walked the running course so that we knew what was coming for us. After that we went to get ready. Jessica and I went to a spot where she could take pictures easy and put me in a save place. She didn’t want me to be in any danger like last time.
When the first round began, we waited patiently for Katinka and Shunka to pass by. After that we went to the finish to take finish pictures. I was so happy when Shunka arrived! I missed her so much in the half a hour I didn’t see her.
And then the round began where I would make my debut. I noticed that Jessica was getting more nervous. While Jessica was again taking pictures, I got lonely and sometimes I’d let her know by howling. When I howled a couple of times she came to me and gave me attention. And suddenly Katinka passed again with Shunka. I was so happy, but as soon as she arrived she was gone again. And then the waiting began again. Until suddenly Katinka arrived and took me away with her and left Shunka with Jessica.
When we arrived at the start, Katinka started saying things like ‘where’s Jessica’ and ‘where’s Shunka’ and I wanted to search them and started looking around and standing at my back legs. When she said we could go, I jumped forward and started running like hell. Katinka was startled with my reaction and could keep up at first, but slowly tempered my reaction.
Suddenly I heard Jessica calling my name and I started running towards her like crazy. But then she turned around and Katinka pulled me to the other side. I was a bit disappointed, but I kept running while Katinka kept cheering me on.
And after a while, we got to the finish and there was Jessica again. I was so happy and she was also very happy and kept hugging me and congratulating me!
And this was my debut at canicross.

I tried something new today: mushing with a dogscooter.
And it is fun as long as Shunka isn’t pulling and Jessica is running in front of us ^_^

Today is a sad day. We had to say our goodbye to Sammy.
He was a proud dog and very pack oriented. He was the boss and Shunka and I had to listen. When he started getting older and wasn’t able to do his leader role, Shunka started taking over. She barked when something was wrong so that Sammy was notified.
If I was getting to wild, both of them would tell me. I’ve learned a lot from Sammy. I learned that I should be proud and stand up for myself. But eventhough I was physically stronger than Sammy in the last couple of years, I would never try to get a higher ranking position, because I had so much respect for him.
He also taught me how to pose for photo’s and protect Shunka.
Yesterday, I said my goodbyes without knowing that it would be the last time that I would see him. Katinka had carried Sammy outside, so that he could do his ‘business’ and while he was laying there, I licked his face all over. Lately I did that a lot more, because that made him more aware of his surroundings. But those were actually the last licks I would give him.
I always loved Sammy and I hope he’s running like he loved to do when he was younger in a better place and enjoying his eternal life in the afterlife.

Today I had my first photoshoot. It was in Sint-Katelijne-Waver (near Brussels).
The day started with a quick brush (so I didn’t had any leaves in my coat anymore from the night before) and than it was in the car and drive. Sammy was a little agitated, but that didn’t bother me as long as a get enough attention from Jessica.
The photoshoot was made by Ticolana (website in the links page) and my not so friendly aussie mate Charlie was also present. By the time we got there, Charlie already had his photoshoot.
Pictures were first taken of Sammy. He can’t pose a lot anymore, but still there were some nice pictures. Then it was Shunka’s turn. This meant a lot of jumping an crawling around for a couple of nice action pictures. I tried to cut in, but except for some pictures of us together I was sent back. And then it was finally my turn. And what did you expect? I was myself and tried looking my best and jumped around. I had a blast.
After the photoshoot, Katinka, Sammy, Shunka, Jessica and I went for a little walk (we weren’t that for from a park and it was very nice there), a little bit of rabbit hunting ^_^ and then home.
The results of the photoshoot can be found in the gallery.

You know how I like water and like to play in it. And that I’m taking swimming lessons at a pool biweekly. Now, I’m taking it a step further. I’m trying to swim in the lake at the woods and it seems to go well.
Katinka has taking me with her on walks a couple of times lately after my bronchitis and we sometimes go to the woods. I was always looking at Shunka swimming after the ducks and it seems she’s enjoying herself, so I finally decided to take chance. And it seems it is easier than it looks.
So today I tried it again and with the hot weather the last couple of days, the water feels really cool and refreshing. I was liking it so much that I didn’t want to stop anymore and I swam four times. After that I had to stop from Katinka.
So I’m now soaking wet and I can’t wait until Jessica is home to tell the good news. And she will be pleased to see that I’m full of leafes and seeds from plants and that she will have to brush that all out ^_^

Can you believe it? I’m already 4 years old today. And this means……. GIFTS and yummy treats!!!!!!
Let’s start with the presents. I got 2 brand new toys: a Planet Dog kong and a “Recycle” ball.
The kong will be used for putting in treats and I’ll have to try taking them out.
The “Recylce” ball isn’t a ball for recycling, but it’s a toy made out of recycled products and should be very strong. But I’ll have to test it to see if that is true.
As for treats, I got a very “yummy” dinner from Katinka: a vegetable mix. How cruel can a person be?
Jessica on the other hand had gone to the shop and bought all kinds of snacks from Pedigree that I love and some chicken jerky. But Jessica things I won’t be able to eat all of those today. I want to prove her wrong by eating them all, but she won’t let me. I have to find a way to get in that cookie jar!

Today was the first time to see so much snow and I still can’t believe it.
Very early this morning I was ‘dog’napped by Katinka and Shunka. They put me in Katinka’s car and off we went. As we were driving, the outdoors become whiter and whiter and it started feeling colder. Not that the cold was bothering me, because I love the cold.
After two hours we finally arrived at destiny point. We were at the Sahara. Snow was laying there in mountains. I was so curious and started running around and sniffing everywhere.
I rolled over to get the sent of the snow on me so I could started hunting, but alas, there were no preys to be found. So I decided to jump around in the snow and running back and forward with the occasional photoshoot stop ^_^
After playing in the snow for a couple of hours, Katinka called me back to pat me on the back. She lifted my tail up and saw all ice building up at the curl of my tail. So now she had to defrost me every hour so it wouldn’t build up. Wouldn’t that be funny: a frozen keeshond popsticle?
When we arrived at the lake in the center of the Sahara, we saw that all the water was frozen. Shunka was brave enough to run over it, but I didn’t want to. When I was about 6 months old, I once fell through the ice in the woods where I life and I don’t want to relive that moment.
I was enjoining myself a whole lot, but after running around for about 8 hours, I was getting tired. It’s hard to run in snow. So we started walking back to the car. The drive to home was over before I know it because I was sleeping. I was so happy to see Jessica so I decided to jump on her lap and made her wet with snow and mud ^_^
But she wasn’t angry because she saw how tired I was, and decided to give me some cookies. And now I’m off to bed, because I just so tired and I can’t keep my eyes open.
